About the Program

Our Knitting Training Program takes place in three dedicated rooms within the garage compound that Gigi Mercy Foundation rents in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. These rooms serve as practical learning hubs where young women and girls gather to learn, create, and grow together in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Duration: 4 months | Location: Gigi Mercy Foundation Training Rooms, Mbarara City

Skills Taught
  • Knitting fundamentals (casting, stitching, binding)
  • Making baby clothes, school sweaters, and scarves
  • Reading basic patterns and measurements
  • Crochet design, girls and women cardigans, hoods, bags etc
  • Packaging and product presentation
