Mechanical Training

Hands-on automotive training for a brighter future

The Mechanic Training Program is offered by the Gigi Mercy Foundation and takes place at our rented garage space in Mbarara City, located in Western Uganda. This is not a regular classroom—our trainees learn directly in a real garage with actual vehicles. Every day, students get hands-on experience with vehicle repairs and maintenance, just like professional mechanics.

You will be trained in practical, real-life situations, learning how to inspect and fix different parts of a vehicle under the guidance of skilled experts. By the end of the program, you will have the knowledge and confidence to work as a mechanic

What You Will Learn

Throughout the 6-month program, you will gain skills in the following areas:

  • How to inspect and maintain vehicles properly
  • How to diagnose and repair engine problems
  • Basics of electrical systems and vehicle wiring
  • How to handle customers and follow safety practices in the garage

Why You Should Join

  • You will train on real vehicles in a functioning garage, not in a classroom
  • Learn directly from experienced and professional mechanics
  • Get practical skills and job-readiness in just 6 months
  • Become confident in handling real mechanic tasks and challenges
